10 Man Goodness

I am a proud member of a 25 man raiding guild, but man do I love 10 man raiding. That doesn't mean I don't enjoy 25 man raiding and success either, but 10 man is so much more... intimate, fast, productive? I don't know the word to use. It's less chaotic, less dramatic, less frustrating, and more productive. We did 9 of 12 bosses in ICC last night in 2.5 hours. Two of which I had never seen us succeed at, and we two shotted both. Our portal healers rocked Dreamwalker, and I kicked some raid healing ass on the outside, thanks Zan and Ghost! And Blood Queen was cake. Maybe it's because we've been working on her in 25's, but it was so much easier with just 10 people. The night before we also (though I was absent) finally got Dreamwalker and BQ down in 25 man. Time to visit Prof and Sindy in 25's on Sunday! We only raid three nights a week. We consider ourselves a casual guild, but when it comes to raiding we get serious. I love working on a boss, feeling that frustration, but also watching us learn and improve each attempt. When we finally do get it it's a wonderful feeling!

Rant!

I haven't visited here in a while. But something annoyed me enough tonight to come write.

I have been informed by my GM that "Resto Druids are Dead Last when it comes to effective tank healing". Can anyone explain this? I realize pallies kick ass at tank healing. And I realize I'm a great raid healer, but I am also a pretty kick ass tank healer. Why put a holy pally and a holy priest on tanks EVERY F'ING RAID, all raid long? Don't they get bored too? And aren't holy priests pretty kick ass raid healers?

In what order would you list best tank healers? Best raid healers?

Does anyone have any info, math/spec/talents specific, that discusses the benefits of certain classes raid vs. tank healing?

Sorry for the rant, I'm just at a loss tonight.

Here and Gone? We'll See...

I have not been able to dedicate the time I wanted to this blog. I recently left a large guild, and moved to a smaller one that I honestly am not sure is going to work out. I've spent a lot of time raiding and after taking a short break with my druid realized just how much time I had been... well, not wasting, but not spending on other more important real life priorities. I will probably run around on alts, but I don't think I'll be spending nearly as much time online as I have over the last year or so. I want to keep this blog, and one day come back to it when I've got my head on a bit straighter... but for now it'll be a bit more sporadic... hopefully if I come back to it I can take the time to write some real articles/guides/etc. =)

Thanks to those who read my random thoughts and have sent encouragement along the way... you will certainly still be read on a daily basis! =)

Food For Thought

Disclaimer... the below made me giggle, I do not, however, necessarily agree with it! =)

Quote of the day from the WoW forums:

"How to avoid bad pugs: Never play with people who show The Explorer, Challenger, or Jenkins."

I have none of these, I wonder if that makes me a good candidate for a pug... I admit I did gleefully display my Merrymaker title in January and Elder as well, I'm just a holiday loving kind of person... hopefully Champion Of The Frozen Wastes makes up for that? =P

Gogo Feral

I did it, I respecced Feral. =) I have been tired of raid healing on my druid and gemmed/enchanted all my offspec feral gear this weekend and respecced tonight. And I feel a bit relieved to be quite honest. Looking forward to running around and doing some group quests solo and see how much I can take on. It's been awhile so it'll take a little getting used to, especially with all the new talents, but it's a welcome change. More to follow... but it's late and I need bed! =)

Honest Scrap Bonus Edition

So I cheated and tagged a few people who had already been tagged in my original Honest Scrap Post... this will be the post in which I make up for that, and will probably be edited and added to on a daily basis.

To get things started I just discovered Arcane Asylum and Ultra's post on mages in OS had me literally laughing out loud. =P I was tempted to quote my favorite parts, but I'd hate to do that without his permission. Definitely worth a read!

Holy Productive Batman!

It's been a good day for the alts. My lock turned 70 and guess what little treat she got... Yep, Seed of Corruption, Woohoo! And my Shammy turned 75, right as she killed (well elemental healed, not half badly if I do say so myself) Mr. Herald Volazj in Old Kingdom. Lava Burst is now one of my hotkeys. I am a happy Altaholic. =P
